Definitely the funniest and most touching season. The show continues to mature with it’s jokes, characters, and relationships. I hope we never meet the mother so we can enjoy it as long as possible.

This season wasn’t that good. I used to love it so much before. But now the magic’s gone. They postpone the moment we meet the mother so much, I wonder if all the show lays on this scene. Of course it could really go on after we’ve met her. Since they’ve made a mistake for making Britney Spears come back, the show just went down (when we first see this girl who warned Lily about Barney, she has curly hair. When they made this girl be Britney Spears, they showed the exact same scene but with Britney’s straight hair). The same with this bar tender “Doug”, who has -of course- been here from the beginning, but the camera just missed him. And what about Carl ?
The show is going downer and downer. I know wish it either to stop or to show a miracle.

Great episode, great season finale . It was so much better than last year’s “Miracles”. And the scene with jumps was awesome, I love Newman’s song!

Honestly, I think that were gonna meet the mom either next season or the one after that. Cause, when you think about it, when we see 2030 Ted and his kids, it seems to me that the children are in the 17-20 range. So backtrack about 20 years from there, we get to about 2010.. So i expect meeting the mom soon, hopefully next year.

found it I think. in Season 3 Episode 7 – Dowisetrepla Ted mentions that Uncle Marshall likes to say he made 3 big mistakes in his life: 1. Jumping off the roof with fake wings 2. Shaving his head just before the wedding 3. Buying their first house at dowisetrepla despite being heavily in debt.
and I think me3 is right , it does show Marshall on the roof saying “I can jump that far” in S4e13 Three Days of Snow

I don’t remember them saying it was a mistake. I remember them saying those are 5 words every man says at some time in his life. Like “We should buy a bar” and “I’m gonna win her back.”
