I did feel like this episode was a sort of filler show, like they are taking a step back from the grand find-the-kids’-mother plot line to give us a sort of break. The plots weren’t really carried out, and nothing was really accomplished other than more character building. All in all though, I felt like it was a great episode. I think filler shows are sometimes needed and can definitely benefit long time watchers of a series.

Can I just say that I disagree with Francis on the songs? Please, give me more songs! I love them! Ted breaking into needless song cracked me up to no end! I love Marshall’s songs as well (can’t stop singing that BangBang song!). Jason Segel is a talented musician and I love the songs he does (like that vampire song in Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Best part of the whole movie). Those are his forte and I think he just adds to the show with them.

I go back and forth on the whole Robin/Barney thing. At first I thought it was just icky. But when they really got into it I must admit I like the idea of them together. They seem to balance each other out and I wouldn’t be shocked if the series ended with them together. I don’t want to see it like a Ross and Rachel type, on and off again relationship though because that could get old fast!!
