Scrubs s8e13 – My Full Moon

Date April 1, 2009

scrubs_my_full_moon_turk_mechanicSynopsis:

A full moon and a healthy dose of bad luck bring Sacred Heart’s new crop of interns their roughest case load yet, while Elliot has a revelation about her future.

My Thoughts:

An Elliot and Turk centered episode with quite a bit of help from the Todd and the interns. No JD, No Janitor, No Dr. Cox or Jordan, No Kelso, No Ted, No Carla, that what helping the budget looks like, if only our government could learn…. I digress. The best thing about Scrubs though is the way they can mix in great comedy with some really tough emotional situations. The interns add a lot to the episode and give hope for the future, should the show continue, that even when there are only 2 main cast members present that there are still plenty of laughs.  I think it’s fair to say though that should Scrubs go down that road that the Zach Braff style monologue won’t work. The episodes are different with out it and I doubt they could pass it off to any single character and make it work… maybe Ted… how funny.

The ending was a real set up in my opinion for how things could end with the show (especially with Elliot and JD). Discussion encouraged and did everyone like the ending song? I even downloaded it. Sweet tune. Scrubs music rocks.

What did everyone else think?

My Great Moments:

  • Elliot’s bad timing with jokes, though “Elliot has a slammin tushie” was great.
  • The Todd really has some great t-shirts like tonight’s: Ladies Wanted Inquire Inquire inside.
  • the HIVvey? While not really that funny Turk’s comment about “it sounds like a dance the kids do” was great…reminds me I’m getting old.
  • Elliot and Turk scare the interns. Classic.
  • Turk’s speech about Disneyland was quite good, though what does it say when you best friend forgets your deal like that? Trouble in paradise?
  • One of the great things about Scrubs is the way they can deal with some very tough situations with a laugh. While sometimes pushing the line, it make Scrubs work and always has.  The way the show goes from ups to down in stride has always been a strong selling point and something I think all Scrubs fans love.
  • Elliot and Turk making fun of JD’s end daydream voice. Also, was the “Japanese model” Dr. Winn?
  • The Todd’s high five supremacy not legendary?

My Music:

Ending as Elliot and Turk talk WAZ – Hardly Enough

My Quotes:

Denise: That’s adorable, you have a crush on yourself.

Turk: It’s a ride with Nemo

more quotables coming soon.

Don’t Miss the Credits:

the Todd gives advice to get Howie to stop doing the high fives, “Find your own thing.”

But not the low arm pump…that’s taken.
