Scrubs s8e15 – My Soul on Fire Part II

Date April 15, 2009

scrubs_my_soul_on_fire_wedding I can not stress enough why Scrubs is the best show on TV at present. Scrubs is better than any other show shows the perfect mix of comedy and emotion in my opinion. This episode was much more dramatic that Part I, but the comedy was great and well placed. Dr. Cox came clean about how he felt with Jordan, the Janitor came up with a non-evil and sincere thought, Carla was a wife first for once, and JD did find a way to tell Elliot he loved her… By the way, I almost felt like he was going to propose to Elliot, close I suppose, he did give her a $436 replica Brady Bunch tiki necklace.

I’ve got so many quotes and moment I don’t feel like I have much else to say here for now. So read on. As far as the episode, what did everyone else think?

My Music:

The song that Ted (Sam Llyod aka Mr. Musical Genius) at the wedding was Hey Ya and it is originally done by Outkast, however there is an acoustic version made famous by Mr. Matt Weddle of Obidiah Parker (try this for the mp3 Obadiah Parker - Obadiah Parker Live - Hey Ya ). Either way Ted version was awesome, definitely one of my favorite songs ever on Scrubs and that’s saying something because the music is awesome.

side note: for a soon to be complete listing of all Scrubs Music look no further!

My Quotes:

Janitor: Where’s Todd?
Ted: Last time I saw him he was stuffing seaweed down his swimming trunks.
Janitor: Sure, Where’s Doug?

Ted: Awww… I put ranch on my face.

Carla: On behalf of women everywhere let me thank you for equating sex with love. We love that.

Janitor: You’d be weird too if your mother aged backwards like mine did.

JD: I love you more than Turk, it’s hard for me to say that but it’s true.

Justice of the Peace Van: I am not a strong public speaker, nor am I that familiar with the Bible.

Janitor: Van? I drove one of you.

My Greatest Moments:

  • The Janitor actually says something heartfelt. He has come so far for someone who was originally supposed to be only in JD’s mind.
  • Bill Lawrence. Face it he was awesome. From his bar scene to his role as the wedding official. Seriously good stuff.
  • Ted. Oh my how funny and he is a musical God. His sunburn issue is quite funny.
  • JD’s punishment form the Janitor. “Why are there fish on my hands?”
  • Awesome wedding. I wish I would have though to make everyone else stand while I sit.
  • Hey ya. Ted’s version was so good it deserves mention twice.
  • Doug. Even I felt sorry for him not getting an invite, but I am still rolling from him laying on the morgue freezer shelves.
  • Turk’s Jefferson dance as he follows Carla to the water.
  • High tide five… it managed to cover the Janitors name. It’s coming in the finale I believe.

Stay for the Credits

Kelso who managed to spend the entire trip drinking Bahama Mamas at the outdoor bar is encouraged by the bartender (ps. enjoy a few good bartender jokes) to “get out and see the island”. so he does get out… and order a Bahama Mama at another bar.
