More Work for Women
April 8, 2008
Not that I am trying to give free ammunition to my female readers, but I’m going to have to file this article in the “I told you so” file…mainly because that’s what my wife said after reading it. To introduce the article, I will start with this clip:
“Having a husband creates an extra seven hours of housework each week for women, according to a new study. For men, tying the knot saves an hour of weekly chores.”
I realize for most women this is a moment where you say “Tell me something that is not obvious”…it’s interesting…however the most humorous thing to me is reading the comments… For a full rundown of the study about how men create more work for women check here.
Personally I blame the whole thing on government. With all the talk about the economy and jobs, I am sure that men just thought they were helping out. Politicians always talk about creating jobs, right? Well most men simply confused creating jobs with creating work….maybe?
Either way, if my wife is reading this, I promise to pick up my socks when I get home

My wife takes care of our two children and then takes care of the biggest kid in the house (me), and still has time to go to school, volunteer in several church departments, and be a good friend and family member to others. There is no way that I could do all the work that she does and get the results that she gets. I had both kids by myself last night (ages 3 years and 3 months) and the house looked like a tornado when she got home. It’ll probably look great when I get home this evening. I justify this by telling myself she couldn’t troubleshoot a server :).

@Brandon… funny, I actually rationalize the same situation with the troubleshoot a server thing. Amazing.
